Albert Elias Residential Community Home is a 20-bed residential program located in Mercer County. The program is located on the estate of Charles Lindbergh, the site of the infamous "Lindbergh baby" kidnapping. With such a history, there are consistent requests for tours. The students are utilized as tour guides after completing a training on the building's history. The youth are also responsible for the historic maintenance of the house that the Lindbergh family deeded to the State of New Jersey.
The program intercedes in the emotional, social and academic areas of the juveniles' lives through individual treatment plans that address their specific weaknesses.
The facility has an extensive multimedia program where young people are taught marketable skills such as filming and editing. Juveniles use these skills to prepare video presentations for special JJC projects.
Residents participate in several wilderness activities, including a high ropes course, which are designed to help them improve their decision making skills, increase their self confidence and encourage teamwork. This program gives residents a unique opportunity to learn about man's interaction with nature and wildlife.
